The city's park system includes additional neighborhood parks, playgrounds, and sports fields serving the growing population. Within the master-planned communities, residents enjoy private lakes, pools, trails, and amenity centers that function as everyday recreation. Beyond the city, Pearland's parks and recreation facilities are minutes away, the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge lies to the south, and Galveston's beaches and bay fishing are within an hour's drive.
